Old Business : None
Business for the Good of the Chapter:
1)Elections for 2008: Email voting was used. Invitations to nominate were sent out to all members. There were no new nominations beyond the standing officers. Voting ballots were then sent to all members – twice. The results were as follows: (Richard Schroeder chose not to be Chmn. or Vice Chmn.).
Chairman – John Visotsky
Vice Chairman – Alan Mundy
Secretary – Richard Schroeder
Treasurer – Carlos Hernandez
2)Committees: Existing Committee Chairs will be asked to continue. An effort will be made at the next Meeting (February 15th) to solicit new participants for these Committees. We appreciate the contribution of all Chairpersons.
3)Meeting Charges: We will adopt the same rate schedule as the Piedmont Chapter (to be updated per changes in the Piedmont Schedule): $ 35 for Members, $ 45 for Non Members. These fees will take effect for the Feb 2008 meeting. Tables for Vendors will remain at the present schedule: $ 40 for Members, $ 50 for Non Members. The reason for these changes is the necessity to remain solvent in the face of rising food and meeting place fees.
4)Upcoming meetings for 2008:
February 15 2008 – Joint Ga./Piedmont Chapter Meeting in Augusta.
June 2008. Macon, Ga.
September 2008: Valdosta, Ga.
November 2008: Final Business Meeting for 2008
5)Speakers: We will need 6 speakers for 2008. An action item for this year is to put together a top notch speakers list. We ask for participation from all members to do this. A discussion was held concerning reimbursing speakers. It was determined that generally we do not reimburse speakers from major corporations.
6)Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at approximately 2:35 PM.
